UK Tote Group has appointed its former chief commercial officer (CCO) Dave Hammond to the new role of chief operating officer (COO).
Hammond has spent the last two years with the pool betting operator, having first joined in April 2023 as CCO.
Prior to that, Hammond was the CEO of sports betting blockchain firm Spartos for four months, from September to December 2018. He was then appointed as executive chairman for three years before leaving in December 2021.
Previous roles in the gambling industry saw Hammond spend just under two years with DraftKings as its senior vice-president of retail and technical operations, from April 2020 to November 2021.
Between December 2018 to April 2020, the industry veteran served as SBTech’s COO.
He also spent almost three years as Paddy Power Betfair’s director of retail product and innovation from November 2015 to June 2016, before working as the company’s B2B director from May 2016 to July 2018.
His longest spell with a company saw him spend a decade with Inspired Gaming Group. He joined in April 2006 as its senior corporate account manager, before stepping into the role of national account director of gaming in July 2007.
Five-and-a-half years later and Hammond became gaming operations director, staying in the position for two-and-a-half years before becoming senior vice-president of mobile until his departure in November 2015.
At the start of the year, UK Tote Group announced it had agreed a new long-term deal with the UK’s leading racecourses including York and Newbury.
The deal is in place until October 2030.
