Genius Sports has formed a new alliance with the European Leagues Association to acquire exclusive data rights for a broad range of professional football leagues across Europe.
Under this agreement, Genius Sports is tasked with capturing and distributing official betting data for all corresponding competitions to its network of regulated sportsbooks worldwide.
The European Leagues Association encompasses 18 leagues, representing over 8,000 matches annually in 46 professional football competitions across Europe, including both men’s and women’s leagues.
This membership includes prestigious top-tier divisions such as the Belgian Pro League, Liga Portugal, Dutch Eredivisie, Greek Super League, and the Serbian Super Liga.
Additional leagues involved in this partnership are the Czech Republic’s Ligová Fotbalová Asociace, the Danish League, Dutch Keuken Kampioen Divisie, Finnish Veikkausliiga, and the Israeli Professional Football League.
The coverage extends further to the Kazakhstan Football League, Latvian Virslīga, Norwegian Professional Football League, Romanian Professional Football League, Slovak Nika Liga, Föreningen Svensk Elitfotboll, and the Swiss Football League.
This collaboration will enable Genius Sports to use its AI-driven GeniusIQ platform to enhance monitoring, officiating, team performance, and fan engagement at football stadiums throughout Europe, fostering innovation.
Steven Burton, Chief Partnerships Officer at Genius Sports, commented, “This expanded partnership with the European Leagues substantially broadens and deepens the range of official, high-quality data available to our sportsbook partners. More importantly, it indicates a critical shift in the rights model, where technological investments redefine traditional frameworks, extending the runway for future sales and revenue potentials.”
“By providing cutting-edge, AI-enabled solutions that leagues demand, we are strengthening our alignment, enhancing our competitive edge, and fostering the next level of technological innovation in European football,” added Burton.
Alberto Colombo, General Secretary of the European Leagues, remarked, “In line with the ongoing evolution of the European Leagues, we are delighted to support our members again in their future business and commercial strategies.”
“This landmark agreement with Genius Sports not only mirrors the evolution of the sports data market but also highlights the integral role technology will increasingly play in shaping how commercial agreements are established,” stated Colombo.
This partnership adds to Genius Sports’ pre-existing portfolio, which already includes major football leagues like the Premier League and France’s Ligue 1.
Genius Sports reported a first-quarter revenue of $144 million for 2025, attributed to a significant increase in its betting division revenue.
The firm has secured a multi-year partnership deal with the European Leagues Association, expanding its coverage to include competitions in countries such as the Netherlands, Portugal, Greece, and Serbia.
