Bet365 has opened its new US headquarters in Denver, Colorado, with plans to hire nearly 1,000 employees.

In 2018, soon after the US Supreme Court ruling on sports betting allowed states to regulate sports betting, the Stoke-on-Trent based operator announced plans to launch in the US – beginning with New Jersey. Bet365 has now expanded to 11 US states so far.

A bet365 spokesperson said: “Unveiling our US headquarters in beautiful downtown Denver represents a watershed moment in bet365’s North American journey.

“The Mile High City and its thriving business community is the ideal location to launch the next chapter in our company’s future, and we’re excited to create an industry-leading, innovative workplace in our new home.”

Roles at the 120,000 square metre facility at One Platte will include customer service operations, trading, software development, technology, marketing, legal, finance, facilities, human resources and recruitment.

Based on the announcement, the Colorado Economic Development Commission approved over $14m in performance-based Job Growth Incentive Tax Credits for the company over an eight-year period.

Colorado Governor, Jared Polis, added: “We are thrilled to welcome bet365 and nearly 1,000 jobs to Colorado and congratulate them on the grand opening of their new US headquarters here.

“Bet365 will create nearly 1,000 new good-paying jobs and as many as 300 this year that will help Coloradans earn a good living and support their families. We are confident they will quickly find that our great state is the best place to live, work and do business.”

The firm’s commitment to the country comes at a time when others are departing. Kindred recently left the US despite being a mainstay of European markets, while WynnBet has shuttered even though the firm holds a significant land-based position in the US.

However, bet365 continues to see opportunities in North America while the uptake of betting continues to increase.

The NFL season recently began and bet365 marked it by launching its ‘Breaking News’ campaign, as well as new features such as ‘Bet & Watch’ and ‘Thursday Night Touchdowns’.
