Kalshi and xAI have officially confirmed a new partnership, two months after the Elon Musk-owned social media platform denied any such relationship had been formalised.

In a tweet from the xAI account yesterday, 24 July, the pair’s partnership was confirmed with immediate effect.

“Effective immediately, Kalshi and xAI are partnering to bring Grok [xAI’s chatbot] to prediction markets. Two of the fastest growing companies in America are now on the same team,” it read.

Under the terms of the deal, Kalshi’s markets will be supported by AI-powered chatbot Grok to provide context and real-time updates to markets.

Grok will use historical data, economic indicators and other sources to provide information and guidance to Kalshi users.

In a clip shared by xAI as an example, users will be provided with a ‘Market Summary’, in which Grok will deliver its context and insights.

In May, Kalshi had to perform a major U-turn after announcing the xAI deal, before stating that the details weren’t mutually confirmed.

In the intervening period, X announced blockchain-powered Polymarket as its official predictions market partner. Grok is also being deployed on the Polymarket site to help inform users.

Yet news of the Kalshi deal with xAI had some on social media questioning how Polymarket’s partnership wasn’t exclusive.

This week, Polymarket announced its imminent return to the US after snapping up QXC for $112m. In an interview with CNBC to discuss the acquisition, CEO Shayne Coplan labelled Kalshi as a “copycat” of his platform.

Touching on the xAI deal, Kalshi CEO Tarek Mansour said: “What once seemed crazy is now obvious. When we launched Kalshi, people thought we were nuts. Today, prediction markets are one of the most powerful tools for understanding the world.

“We’ve always admired those who defy the odds – and no one embodies that more than Elon and xAI. In just two years, xAI went from an idea to running the largest training centre on the planet.

“The pace of innovation is hard to believe. And AI will be critical to the evolution of prediction markets. Together, we’re building at xAI’s pace to shape the future of this ecosystem.”
