Acroud has announced the appointment of Mikael Strunge as its new president and CEO, four years after first joining the affiliate.
Strunge joined Acroud in January 2021, arriving as managing director of the firm’s SaaS segment after it acquired PMG Group.
Strunge had been serving as PMG’s CEO at the time. He had been PMG board member since January 2014 and eventually entrusted with chief executive duties in June 2020.
Strunge made the move to Acroud following the acquisition, spending four years overseeing the SaaS branch of the company before being named COO in February of this year.
The 44-year-old will now succeed the departing Robert Andersson as CEO.
Acroud did not disclose why Andersson was leaving as CEO. He has led the affiliate since March 2020.
Acroud’s new CEO has swathes of industry experience, including a near seven-year stint as a SiGMA board member between 2013 and 2019, as well as three years with AP Media, an igaming affiliate marketing agency founded by Strunge in 2010.
Commenting on his promotion, Strunge said: “The last four years at Acroud have been a rollercoaster of emotions and results.
“I am proud to accept this appointment from the board and look forward to start the implementation of the company’s new strategic framework.”
Morten Marcussen, Acroud chairman, praised Andersson ahead of his exit after five years in the top job as he welcomed Strunge into the role.
“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Robert Andersson for his leadership and contributions over the past years,” Marcussen noted.
“We are pleased to appoint Mikael Strunge as our new president and CEO. Mikael brings deep operational insight and a clear strategic vision, and we are confident that under his leadership, Acroud will enter its next phase of growth and innovation.”
As per Acroud’s Q1 earnings report, revenue rose 3% to €9.8m while adjusted EBITDA dropped 64% to €447,000.
