Player spend on mobile sports betting in New York fell to its lowest level in 10 months in June, though gross gaming revenue remained above $200 million in the Empire State.
Handle for June reached $1.65 billion, according to figures from the New York State Gaming Commission. This was the lowest monthly total since $1.45 billion was wagered in August of last year.
However, the total was 12% ahead of June last year. It fell 25.4% short of the $2.21 billion spent in May 2025.
GGR for the month topped $206.5 million. This surpassed June 2024 by 65.2% but was 17% behind May this year. It was the third-highest monthly total so far in the 2025 calendar year.
This resulted in a statewide sports betting hold in New York of 12.52% for the month.
FanDuel holds off DraftKings challenge
In terms of operators, FanDuel remained the market leader despite taking less in betting volume than its longtime rival, DraftKings. For June, FanDuel posted $86.3 million in revenue from a $563.7 million handle, leaving a 15.31% hold rate.
DraftKings processed more bets, with a handle of $607 million, but revenue fell shorter at $69.8 million. This resulted in a monthly hold of 11.5%.
Fanatics took third place with $17.3 million off $151.7 million for an 11.4% hold.
Next, Caesars reported $13.8 million in revenue from a $152.3 million handle, reflecting a hold of 9.06%. BetMGM was not far behind on $11.9 million from $116.7 million and a 10.2% hold.
Elsewhere, ESPN Bet took $4 million from a $48.2 million handle, meaning an 8.3% hold. Rush Street Interactive followed with $3.7 million off $40.4 million, for a 9.16% hold.
Bally Bet was next with $791,201 from $9.9 million, resulting in a 7.95% hold. Resorts World Bet again trailed in the New York market, posting $229,357 off $2.8 million for a hold of 8.33%.
Revenue reached its third-highest total this calendar year despite lower spending in New York.
