ZEAL Network has named Stefan Tweraser as its new CEO, with the former Google head due to the take on the role from 15 September when he will replace current CEO Helmut Becker.
Tweraser will join the German lottery brokerage’s management board on 25 August prior to taking on the CEO position.
He moves to the business having served as CEO of Rocket Factory Augsburg, a space exploration startup, since 2021.
He previously served as chief marketing officer and chief product officer at audio streaming service Deezer and as CEO of hospitality analyst firm SnapShot.
Tweraser also counts spells as a country manager for Google and a stint at McKinsey & Company on his CV.
The 55-year-old Austrian, who holds a PhD in business administration, was chosen as Becker’s replacement after a “comprehensive and structured selection process”, ZEAL said.
Becker announced in March that he would not be extending his contract with the business in order to pursue other opportunities.
He will officially step down on 14 September but remain on hand in a consultant position for the remainder of his contract through to the end of January 2026.
Becker has been ZEAL’s CEO Since September 2015, previously having served as the company’s chief marketing officer.

Von Schmettow herself was named as chair in May, replacing Peter Steiner at the head of the board.
