Esportes Gaming Brasil has appointed inudstry veteran Hugo Baungartner as its new chief business officer.
The company is the parent of Esportes da Sorte and Onabet, two operators that are licensed in the regulated Brazilian market.
An industry veteran of almost 30 decades, Baungartner has experience working with several companies including RCT Gaming, Grupo Aposta Ganha and Yolo Group.
He’s also spent time on the boards of Prohards and Vegas Card do Brasil.
His most recent role was with Aposta Ganha, where he served as chief commercial officer and vice-president of government affairs.
In his new role, Baungartner will be tasked with liaising with industry organisations including the regulator, central bank and certification bodies.
Alongside that, Baungartner will be responsible for developing partnerships with suppliers, evaluating M&A opportunities and structuring future projects.

On his move, Baungartner added: “Brazil is going through a crucial moment in regulating the sector, and being at the forefront of this movement with such a relevant group is a challenge that truly motivates me.
“Our goal is to ensure our operations not only meet legal requirements but also serve as a benchmark for best practices, innovation and sustainable growth.”
Brazil launched its regulated market on January 1 2025, including Superbet, KTO Group and Betnacional.
A month later, a further 21 definitive licences were awarded to operators such as Betano, bet365 and Stake.
