LeoVegas Group has announced its plans to open a brand new UK office in Leeds, joining a growing collection of igaming operators in the Yorkshire city.
The operator’s new hub will occupy the entire ground and lower ground floor of Tailor’s Corner, covering 5,000 sq ft.
The Grade A listed building is already home to several companies, including Music Vine and Circus PPC Agency, with office real estate sites still advertising more available spaces to rent out.
The seven-floor building, a former fabric and garment warehouse, is located in the city centre.
An opening date for the office has yet to be confirmed, with the space currently being renovated to meet LeoVegas Group’s requirements.
LeoVegas Group’s Leeds hub will be its second UK office, supporting its main headquarters in Newcastle, which opened in 2018.
Gethin Evans, managing director UK and Ireland at LeoVegas Group, said: “We’re looking forward to moving into our new Leeds office shortly.
“It’s an important step towards our key goal to continue building the strength of our hero brands in the UK – BetMGM and LeoVegas – by attracting top talent.
“Leeds will support our main office in Newcastle, which will continue to remain the UK heart of LeoVegas Group.
Evans, who joined the business from Spotlight Sports Group earlier in December, said the move to Leeds would also allow the business to tap into Yorkshire’s budding talent pool.
In addition to the new office, LeoVegas Group has launched a recruitment drive to fill positions, including a senior UK sports director, a senior finance business partner and legal counsel.
Leeds has emerged as a growing hub in the UK, with Flutter Entertainment and evoke both boasting hubs in the city.
Flutter is based out of Wellington Place, having acquired Sky Bet back in 2019, while William Hill and 888 parent evoke is due to move into its new hub in the West Village after 20 years in St Johns.
As per the Welcome to Leeds website, the city has the largest regional economy outside of London, and is also home to Asda, Channel Four and Yorkshire Bank.
Earlier this week, LeoVegas Group’s director of UK and sponsorship Sam Behar announced his departure from the company.
His exit came as part of a company-wide restructuring following an operational review.
