Yolo Entertainment has added to its product and data science teams with the hires of a new director of product engineering and global head of business intelligence and data science.
Abu Koroma, who is taking on his first role in the igaming industry, joins from UK retailer Sainsbury’s, where he spent 11 months as its head of software engineering for its applications.
Prior to that, Koroma was global head of software engineering for regulatory technology firm Diginex for two years, from June 2021 to May 2023.

Alongside the appointment of Koroma, Yolo Entertainment also hired Charlene Cassar from Eastrock Group, Yolo Entertainment CEO Matthew D’Emanuele’s former company.
She spent the last two years as its head of data and insights based out of Malta.
Before joining Eastrock Group, Cassar was a machine learning engineer of Gamesys and previously worked as a data scientist for the company.
Alongside the pair, the crypto-centric operator formerly announced the hirings of James Clark as global head of content and SEO and Jock Jamieson-Black as head of CRM and regional strategy.
On the appointments, D’Emanuele said: “At Yolo Entertainment, our commitment to delivering an exceptional player experience starts with our people.
“That’s why we are delighted to continue attracting world-class talent from both within and beyond the igaming industry.
“We’re excited to welcome Jock, James, Abu and Charlene, with each bringing outstanding pedigree, deep expertise and the kind of ambition and energy that perfectly reflect our culture.
“We’re thrilled to have them on board as we continue to raise the bar for entertainment.”

Last month, Yolo Entertainment promoted three senior staffers to its C-suite.
Ashley Abela Hardy stepped into the chief product and technology officer role, Shane Anderson was named chief brand officer and Laura Nash took the reins as chief data officer.
