## Record Sports Betting Handle in Arizona for November

Spending on sports betting in November reached $897.6 million (£708.2 million/€856.6 million), surpassing October’s previous record of $759.8 million by 18.1% and exceeding the previous year’s figures by 25.8% in Arizona.

Data from the Arizona Department of Gaming indicated that online spending was $890 million, with retail wagers at $7.6 million.

Consumer winnings from online and retail sources totaled $811.3 million. Consequently, adjusted gross event wagering receipts reached a record $84.1 million, surpassing the previous high set in September 2024 by 8.7% and nearly doubling November 2023’s total.

Online betting accounted for $83.3 million of all adjusted gross event wagering receipts during the month, while retail sports betting generated $773,634.

November saw free bets amounting to $26.6 million, bringing adjusted gross event wagering receipts after free bets to $57.5 million. This was a 183.3% increase from the previous year.

In terms of handle, based on adjusted gross event wagering receipts before free bet deductions, the monthly figure was 9.37%. After deducting free bets, the handle in November was 6.41%.

## FanDuel Continues to Lead DraftKings

Flutter Entertainment-owned FanDuel maintained its leading position in Arizona, reporting $29.9 million in adjusted gross event wagering receipts, before free bet deductions, from a $288.6 million handle. This resulted in a 10.36% monthly hold.

DraftKings followed closely in second place, earning $25.7 million from a higher handle of $293.4 million, resulting in an 8.76% hold for November.

BetMGM rounded out the top three with $12.7 million in total adjusted gross event wagering receipts from a $111.6 million handle, equating to an 11.38% hold.

Caesars generated $4.0 million in combined online and retail revenue from a total handle of $52.5 million, with a monthly hold of 7.62%.

Fanatics earned $3.8 million in revenue, all from online activities, on a $42.2 million handle, achieving a 9% hold. Following was Bet365, with $3.2 million, also entirely online, from $39.2 million, resulting in an 8.16% hold.

ESPN Bet reported $2.3 million in online revenue from $28.4 million, representing an 8.1% hold. Hard Rock Digital was the only other operator to surpass $1 million in revenue, posting $1.4 million from $20.4 million in wagers for a 6.86% hold.

Tax-wise, Arizona collected $5.7 million in total during November. Of this, nearly all was from online sports betting, taxed at 10%, while retail betting, taxed at 8%, contributed just $57,358.

Arizona recorded a record sports betting handle for the second consecutive month in November 2024, with revenues also hitting an all-time high in the Grand Canyon State.
