The article discusses recent leadership changes at Gentoo Media, where Mads Haugegaard Albrechtsen has been appointed as the new CFO, and Paul Gatt has been promoted to general counsel.

Albrechtsen’s appointment aims to strengthen the “integration between financial strategy and daily operations.” He joins from Deloitte Denmark, where he spent over three years, most recently as a partner since 2022. His experience includes acting as an auditor and adviser for several companies experiencing significant growth, including Gentoo Media, previously known as GiG Media, following its strategic separation from Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) in October 2024. Previously, Albrechtsen also spent five years at PwC. His familiarity with Gentoo Media’s business model, culture, and ambitions is a significant advantage, according to management.

He succeeds Tore Formo, the former CFO, who will now serve as company secretary and head of corporate governance, responsible for shareholder issues and acting as the main contact for Gentoo Media shares and bonds. Mikael Harstad, chair of Gentoo Media, emphasized the strengthened financial leadership with Albrechtsen’s expertise, ensuring closer alignment between finance and operations.

Meanwhile, Paul Gatt’s promotion to general counsel is expected to support Gentoo Media’s expansion and risk management. Gatt joined in 2022 as legal counsel before the split of GiG’s media and supplier divisions. Since September 2023, he has been head of legal. He will report to Gentoo Media CEO Jonas Warrer. Gatt expressed excitement about his new role, motivated to support the company’s growth alongside its talented team in navigating the media and regulatory landscape.

Warrer praised Gatt’s instrumental role in shaping the company’s legal framework during rapid growth and strategic acquisitions. With his leadership and expertise, Warrer is confident that Gatt will effectively manage the company’s legal and compliance strategy.

These leadership changes coincide with Gentoo Media’s release of Q4 2024 results, reporting record revenue growth for the 16th consecutive quarter, totaling €35.9m (£29.8m), marking a 37.5% year-on-year increase. Warrer stated that the business has “never been stronger.”
