DR Gaming Technology (DRGT) has announced the appointment of Marco Herrera to the role of Chief Executive Officer with effect September 2024.

In a move driven by the broader Infiniti Groups significant expansion into the casino operations space, co-founder and former Group CEO, Jurgen De Munck will take on the role of Group Executive Chairman with a core focus on the company’s Infiniti Casino Group, whereas Herrera’s focus will be on strategically driving the Group’s systems, distribution, and jackpot business: DRGT.

“I have headed up DRGT since its inception with Michiel (van Dam, CTO) just over 20 years ago, and during that time we have managed to attract and proudly retain talented colleagues, and similarly formidable customers, something that I am even prouder to say we continue to do. As a result, we have been fortunate enough to be able to not only expand our founding systems business from literally the basement of a casino in Belgium to one operating across five continents, but also widen our offering to casino operations; it is this new business sector that drove the need for a focused systems executive.” said De Munck

In chatting with Herrera, he noted that: “I am thrilled to join DRGT at such a pivotal moment in its history. Jurgen and I met approximately 15 years ago, when DRGT became Bally’s distributor of slot machines in Belgium and we have maintained a close and cordial relationship ever since. I am confident that my many years of experience with Bally/Scientific Games, and more recently with Interblock, will allow for a seamless transition and immediate contributions to the growth of our systems business, while Jurgen focuses on growing casino operations. I especially look forward to meeting the team and once again spending time with customers and casino operators.”

De Munck added, “Marco’s experience in managing a Systems Division for Bally and roles as a CIO, Senior VP and President, fluently speaking French, Spanish and English, and having lived and managed offices in France, the Netherlands, Spain, Slovenia, and the United States made him quite an easy choice. I have no doubt that he will assist us in taking DRGT to the proverbial ‘next level’; both from a strategic point of view, and with regards to operational and product expertise.”

As a current resident of Las Vegas, and notwithstanding his pending trips across the globe to get to know his new colleagues and customers, Hererra will be on-site with DRGT at the Venetian Expo from 8 October as it exhibits from its usual location: Booth 4405, at the 2024 Edition of G2E.
