Bragg Gaming Group has named former BetWarrior and Xtremepush exec Morten Tonnesen as the supplier’s new COO as part of a senior shakeup.

Tonnesen takes on the COO brief having recently served as an adviser to Bragg CEO Matevž Mazij.

The new COO’s most recent role was as chief growth officer with CRM specialists Xtremepush.

He previously served as chief commercial officer at Shape Games, with that business ultimately being sold to Kambi.

Tonnesen co-founded Latam-facing operator BetWarrior and also had a lengthy stint with PokerStars earlier in his career.

As Bragg COO, he will be responsible for overseeing the company’s AI plans. Bragg cut 12% of its workforce earlier this year as part of the transition.

The firm is hoping to become an “AI-first company” by 2027, with KPIs such as AI-enhanced products in 90% of launches and 75% of workflows impacted by the tech.

Last week, Mazij said the “AI brain” would help drive the company to achieve its goals.

Alongside Tonnesen, the firm has promoted Garrick Morris to the role of executive vice-president of global content for the US and Canada.

Morris had been serving as Bragg’s senior vice-president of commercial for the US and Canada since May 2024.

On the appointments, Mazij said: “I’m thrilled to welcome Morten to Bragg and congratulate Garrick on his promotion.

“Both leaders are highly qualified, bringing extensive igaming expertise that will be vital as we embark on our next chapter: becoming a global B2B leader in content, engagement and infrastructure and what we believe will be igaming’s ‘AI-first’ company.”

Tonnesen added: “It has been captivating to watch the scale, scope and speed with which Bragg is already building the Bragg AI brain and, thereby, transforming itself into an AI-first company.

“My near-term focus will be squarely on helping steer the Bragg AI brain toward protecting the company’s cash runway and driving its EBITDA growth.”
