Playtech has announced that its Chief Security Officer, Daniel Liber, has concluded his tenure after dedicating seven years to the company.
Liber, who originally started with the prominent FTSE 250 company as Director of Application Security in December 2017, remained in that role until March 2019. Following this, he advanced to become the Head of Information Security, a position he occupied from March 2019 to April 2021.
Subsequently, he undertook dual responsibilities as Chief Information Security Officer and Chief Security Officer. In these capacities, Liber led a team of 70 staff members across 10 locations, significantly contributing to the enhancement and upkeep of Playtech’s technical security infrastructure.
Before joining Playtech, from May 2017 to December 2017, Liber served as a Security Solutions Architect at the telecommunications company Amdocs. He also has a background as a Research and Development Security Leader at the software firm CyberArk from June 2014 to October 2016.
Besides his role at Playtech, Liber has been associated with Cyber Club London as a member and investor since April 2021.
Reflecting on his departure through a LinkedIn post, Liber expressed, “It took me some time to write this, but after seven years, my journey at Playtech has come to a close. This was not an easy decision, largely because of my incredible team, which felt like a second family to me.”
He went on to describe his time at Playtech as challenging yet rewarding, with important management decisions made amidst a fast-paced but highly regulated environment. Liber emphasized the valuable lessons learned and mistakes from which he grew, stating that he would not trade this experience for anything else.
Liber’s decision to leave coincides with Playtech’s announcement that non-executive director Anna Massion will also be stepping down in February 2025 to explore new opportunities.
