MGM Resorts International, a leading name in global hospitality and entertainment, has announced a significant achievement in the realm of responsible gaming by certifying over 1,000 employees in their GameSense program for 2024. The GameSense program was created by the British Columbia Lottery to educate employees on responsible gaming practices. Since its inception at MGM, the program saw close to 350 employees certified by 2023.

Garrett Farnes, who leads the responsible gaming initiatives at MGM Resorts International, shared his thoughts:

“Our goal is for this training to resonate deeply with employees, empowering them to integrate responsible gaming into their everyday responsibilities. We aim to set a standard in the industry for what it means to be a conscientious operator. You’d be hard-pressed to find another operator that promotes responsible gaming as consistently and thoroughly as we do, around the clock, every day of the year.”

Adding to this, John Flynn, Senior Vice President of Global Security and Aviation at MGM, remarked:

“This program stood out as one that could truly help us advance our goals. Initiatives that employees and guests find valuable tend to integrate seamlessly into diverse cultures eager to embrace our industry.”

GameSense-certified volunteers are trained to recognize signs of problem gambling and connect guests with available resources. Additionally, the program clears up misconceptions, educates players on the real odds of casino games, and ensures that gambling remains a safe and enjoyable activity.
