Evoke has launched a new free-to-play (FTP) horseracing game on its William Hill brand as it looks to build on the success of its ‘Final One Standing’ football offering.

Available to all registered customers in the UK and Ireland from Saturday, February 28, ‘Lucky Stable’ differs from existing FTP offerings in the UK market in that selections are chosen at random.

The game, developed by Engage Games, is housed in the Lucky Stable lobby on the William Hill app and website.

Users select ‘reveal stable’ and are drawn five horses at random. If three or more horses win their races, players win a share of the game’s jackpot, which differs each game.

If there is no winner, jackpots will not be rolled over.

Players cannot redraw horses but if their selection is a non-runner, it will be replaced by a horse in the same race automatically.

Sports strategist Joel Pattison said the new game format may drive engagement among racing novices.

“For novices or more casual bettors, random allocation removes the friction,” he wrote on LinkedIn. “There’s no need to look at the form or second-guess selections. You’re handed a stable, and you follow the results. It’s that simple.

“That simplicity could make it a smart acquisition or re-engagement tool, particularly for customers who might not otherwise interact with racing content.”

The launch arrives on the back of ‘Final One Standing’, William Hill’s free-to-play football game that gives players the chance to win a £500,000.

Launching last summer, CFO and director Sean Wilkins said during the operator’s H1 2025 investor call that it was “performing superbly” and had “200,000 actives engaging with that product” days after launching.

Calling out the product in its strategic highlights for Q3 2025, evoke said: “Successful start to the football season for William Hill, with the free-to-play game Final One Standing attracting over 300,000 entrants for the first week, with strong conversion to cash activity and strong ongoing engagement in subsequent weeks.”

William Hill also announced the launch of its Racing Bet Builder at the end of November, offering outcomes including race winner, finishing position and winning distance.

Last year, Paddy Power launched a new free-to-play horseracing game, Eliminator, ahead of the 2025 Cheltenham Festival.

The game offers users the chance to win a jackpot if they can correctly predict six winners across six races, from 21 selections (in a 6-5-4-3-2-1 format, six picks in the first, down to one in the last).
