Polymarket has appointed Ari Borod, former Fanatics chief business officer, to run its sports division, closing the door on Borod’s dispute with Fanatics.

Borod spent over four years with Fanatics and served as the company’s chief business officer in New York from August 2022 to January 2026. Prior to that, he served as chief commercial officer from July 2021 to August 2022.

Borod commented on his appointment:

“As Polymarket continues to expand its global footprint, the mandate is clear: build partnerships that help bring prediction markets to the center of how fans experience the game. Scaling this category the right way is just as important as scaling it quickly.”

Before his formal appointment at Polymarket, Fanatics filed a lawsuit to block him from joining the company, arguing that his employment contract had a one-year non-compete clause; however, documents proved that such a clause didn’t exist in his contract. As a result, the parties reached a settlement.

Earlier, Borod worked with FanDuel from July 2015 as assistant general counsel and was then appointed as vice president of fantasy sports in 2018. In July 2019, he joined The Action Network as chief commercial officer, and by December 2020, he climbed to the chief operating officer position.
