CopyBet has announced a host of new horseracing sponsorships with The Jockey Club in what the challenger brand said showed its “continued commitment to the sport”.

The operator will sponsor seven race meetings and 41 races at Carlisle, Exeter, Haydock, Huntingdon and Kempton as part of the new package.

The sponsored races started on Monday (2 February) at Kempton, with two race meetings at Exeter later this month also on the slate.

In addition to the suite of new sponsorships, CopyBet said it will continue to provide its Best Odds Guaranteed offer on the sport.

This latest investment comes against the backdrop of looming tax hikes in the UK, which many fear could have damaging implications for horseracing.

Horseracing avoided taxes hikes in the Autumn Budget, although remote gaming duty will jump from 21% to 40% in April.

Remote general betting duty will move from 15% to 25% in April 2027. The British Horseracing Authority interim CEO has warned of a “trickle down” effect for racing.

In the immediate aftermath of the Budget announcement, BetGoodwin decided to pull all of its existing horseracing sponsorship.

Last week, Coral announced it would no longer be sponsoring the Coral Cup at the Cheltenham Festival.

Mark Smith, CopyBet UK managing director, said: “We’re proud to be reinforcing our commitment to British racing with our biggest-ever series of sponsorships.

“With the ever-changing industry landscape, we recognise the importance of supporting a sport that means so much to fans, communities and the wider industry.

“Alongside our commitment to the sport through this series of sponsorships, we’re also ensuring customers benefit from our Best Odds Guaranteed offer, giving them confidence they’re getting great value.”

Daniel Glavin, The Jockey Club betting partnerships manager, added: “This is an exciting year for British racing, and we are thankful for CopyBet’s ongoing support, as demonstrated through this new series of sponsorships.

“From Kempton in February through to Huntingdon in March, we are excited to see CopyBet at key race meetings throughout the start of 2026.”
