**888Bets Expands to Malawi, Strengthening Presence in Africa**

888Bets has extended its reach in Africa by expanding operations into Malawi, adding to its existing presence in Angola.

Expressing enthusiasm about the latest milestone, 888Africa Co-Founder and CEO, Christopher Coyne, shared on LinkedIn, “I am thrilled to announce that 888Africa has officially launched in our seventh African market, Malawi. We have gone live today [Friday, November 29].”

Coyne praised the remarkable efforts of the 888Africa teams, highlighting several key contributors, including Alex Rutherford, the Chief Growth Officer, for his work on licensing, as well as Andrew Lee, the Chief Revenue Officer, Steven McIntosh, VP of Product, and Zeljka Perkovic for their significant roles in the project.

The company’s strategy for thriving in the region isn’t just centered on its sportsbook. It focuses on becoming an integral part of the community, delivering substantial jackpots, and offering thrilling games. The goal is to foster meaningful connections with the wonderful people of Malawi and make a positive impact.

888Bets continues to evolve, responding to market challenges and trends to ensure successful outcomes. Last year, the group took a significant step in its African expansion by acquiring BetLion, a multinational African online bookmaker.

Launched in March 2022, 888Africa is a joint venture spearheaded by former The Stars Group (TSG) CMO, Christopher Coyne. Reflecting on the BetLion acquisition, Coyne stated, “This acquisition is vital as we strive to offer unique betting and gaming experiences across Africa. The talent and technology at BetLion align perfectly with our growth ambitions and will enhance our offerings. We look forward to collaborating with our new colleagues and introducing a broader audience to our local brands.”
